Nissan To Launch All-New Nissan X-Trail CKD And Infiniti Q50 In Malaysia Soon

Nissan will be introducing two more new models in Malaysia before 2014 ends - the Infiniti Q50 and all-new Nissan X-Trail.
Yesterday, Datuk David Chen, Executive Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor announced that the company will be introducing a locally-assembled all-new Nissan X-Trail by the end of this year. The current X-Trail on sale in Malaysia is a second generation model and is imported from Indonesia. This all-new X-Trail mentioned here is the latest third generation model and is currently already on sale in Japan, Europe, and Australia. It is also sold as the Nissan Rogue in USA.
"For the Nissan brand, we will have a few more launches coming up and I have to say that the one that we are most excited about is the all-new Nissan X-Trail," said Datuk David Chen at a media gathering in Kuala Lumpur yesterday night.
"The all-new X-Trail CKD model will be available by the end of this year," he added.
As for Nissan's luxury Infiniti brand, Datuk David Chen also revealed that the ETCM's sister company Inspired Motors, the distributor of Infiniti vehicles, will be launching the Infiniti Q50 later this month.

The Q50 competes against the BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class but it is slightly larger than all its German peers (but still no bigger than a 5-series, A6 of E-Class).
The Q50 measures 4,790 mm long and has a 2,850 mm long wheelbase. That's longer than the Audi A4 (the biggest among the German trio)'s 4,701 mm length and 2,808 mm wheelbase.
Elaborating on the Q50's variant line-up, Datuk David Chen said "It will be available in two variants - The 2-litre turbo, which will be the main selling model, and the 3.5-litre hybrid. Both variants will be launched at the end of this month so stay tuned. We expect the 2-litre turbo to be priced just below RM250,000 and the 3.5-litre hybrid will be sold at just below the RM400,000 mark."
